In today’s society, your company’s Facebook page is like its digital calling card. If you don’t have a social media presence or a mobile friendly website, you are missing opportunities to connect with thousands of potential customers, clients, or patients!
Rachel Kline, knows and understands this. Her company – HighleyDesigned Marketing & Creative’s goal is to help her clients build their brands and businesses with social media. She specializes in Facebook Ads and focus on making a small budget achieve big results! By working directly with each of her clients she’s learned how to establish an authentic web presence that sets them apart from the competition. In a recent chat with Rachel, we spoke to her about her work, her company, what’s next for her and some advice for Small Business owners.
My name is Rachel Kline – I am a marketing professional, writer, web designer and a mother.
I received a BA in Communications from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2011 and after an internship with a pharmaceutical marketing company, I knew that marketing was what I wanted to do! Since then I’ve worked for an agency, and held various marketing positions for local businesses here in Central, Pennsylvania.
After getting married I began freelancing on the side, managing social media for local businesses and designing websites from time to time. It wasn’t until 2014 when I became a mom, that I decided to take the plunge and launch my own business so I could work from home. I started a blog and a website for HighleyDesigned Marketing & Creative and since then it’s taken off! (My maiden name is Highley)
I have seen first-hand how marketing agencies lock clients into long-term contracts and deliver poor results which is why I wanted to establish a business that was different, that was genuine, and had the client’s best interest at heart. With that in mind, I make an effort to educate my clients on new social media trends and changes whenever possible. I find when my clients are involved in their social media success, their business thrives and so does mine!
So what’s next? In addition to social media marketing, I typically manage one of two web design projects at a time. I build my custom websites with Duda and recently became a certified reseller so I can pass along savings to my clients. Similarly, I work with a local SEO company to offer my clients search engine optimization packages. This is something I hope to see grow because I know the program works!
I’ve also been asked to host some social media training sessions for local business organizations which has inspired me to create an online course! I’m hoping to see that launch by 2017. Be sure to stay tuned! And last but not least, I’m hoping to launch a new podcast. Unfortunately, the studio I was working with had to relocate, but I was able to make some amazing connections and my time spent there was well worth it.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my experience as a small business owner it’s to network as much as possible.
When you don’t have a huge budget to market yourself, referrals will be your livelihood! Get connected with local business groups and when new opportunities arise – say yes!
